LOL, do you maybe think that the diameter of the track had anything to do
with that?

Speaking of which, the Top Gear episode that was on last night was on the
400-hp Mitsu Evo available in Europe. They had great things to say about
it, and at the end they decided to run it against the Murci on the track.
They put Clarkson in the Evo and some famous rally driver in the Murci. Lap
after lap the Murci couldn't put any distance on the Evo.
The Murci's a great car, but there are certainly some smaller dogs chewing
on its heels...

I'm sure there are videos or dyno sheets that prove anything can be made
fast with enough money thrown at it. But we are talking about stock
vehicles that are street legal and can be bought at a dealer. Not $15,000
Mustangs that have $50,000 worth of performance parts on them.

There are limits, but those limits are suprisingly high if you can work
with what you have. No doubt, loosing weight always helps but there is
alot of be said for the proper suspension, wheels and tires.
It's always surpised me at how much a Countach/Diablo/Murci weighs...yet
they are so small.
|
The Countach does not weigh that much, not nearly as much as the
Diablo/Murci. I weighed mine with a 1/2 tank of gas, and it was
~3250, which is prob 400-600 bs less than the other cars, or the
TestaRossa of that era.

That's not bad...but the car is so tiny, I would think it would weigh
less. My regular daily driver weighs only 3000 pounds and it's physically
bigger than the Countach.

Where does the weight on lambos come from? The motors? The Diablos
(later) and Murci's are mostly carbon fibre or aluminium, correct?

Boy, you really are confused!
First you insult the EVO, I called you on it, then you claim it was a
simple observation, I called you on it again, you backpedalled, I
called you on it yet again, and now you're back to insulting the EVO!
Make up your mind!
Plus, you're confusing someone else's correction of your poor German
with something I might have said.
Are we having a bad week?

I weighed a Murci that belonged to a friend at a DMV scale with 1/2
tank of gas. I weighed in at 4015, and it had a Burtoni exhaust which
should weigh less than the stock one, so actual real-life weight is
well over 4K. That is usually the case with all car makers.....they
always weigh their cars without fluids, or something, because the I
always weigh my cars, and almost always, they are much heavier than
listed. On the subject of other lambo weights, here are some other
weights I have DMV scale documents for, all with 1/2 tank of gas and
driven right on the scales: LP400 Countach 2750 lbs. Euro QV
Countach: 3270 Lbs. Diablo SE30 (with Burtoni exhaust) 3280 lbs.
